Scarves - the new summer trend

July 30, 2008

Scarves are one of my weaknesses - it's an easy way to add color and pattern to an outfit.

The summer scarf is a great new trend to quickly spice up your weekend uniform of a tank top and a pair of jeans to a look that is casual but definitely chic.

It's great to wear a scarf on breezy summer evenings, tied loosely around the neck.

The summer scarves are made of silk, cotton or any lightweight fabric which is airy and won't absorb heat.

We found some lovely, inexpensive scarves at Gap:

Dip-dye fringe scarf Intarsia dot scarf

The Dip-dye fringe scarf - $19.50 (top left) which is made of soft viscose fabric and has dip-dyed fringe at the ends.

The Intarsia dot scarf - $19.50 (top right) is made of soft polyester/viscose blend and has a lightweight airy style.

Day-to-Night Scarf

In the American Eagle store we found the Day-to-Night Scarf - $19.50 (top) which is also made of a soft, lightweight fabric and has a raw edge trim.

The Free People store carries summer scarves that are on sale.
